Gajda is a writer who lives in the middle of nowhere, somewhere in the southern part of a midwest state which has at least two peninsulas . . . with his two dogs Bud and Woodrow, surrounded by woods and rumors of paved roads. He's recently retired from working thirty years with troubled kids, among other things. And he's currently putting the final touches on an old new work of fiction (so he says).
