MEET THE PRESS WITH CHUCK TODD returned to screens this past Sunday, Aug. 28 as the most-watched Sunday show across the board, delivering 3.122 million total viewers and 977,000 viewers in the key demo.

This was the network program's first regularly-scheduled telecast for four weeks (since July 24) due to several programming changes in markets and 2016 Rio Olympics coverage.

MTP beat ABC's "This Week" by five percent in total viewers (+160,000) and by 23 percent in the key A24-54 demo (+181,000).

Despite almost a month of interrupted programming, the broadcast continued its dominance in the demo with a 21 percent gain (+167,000) compared to the same time last year.

An additional 877,000 viewers and 214,000 key demo viewers watched MTP with rebroadcasts on MSNBC. Please note: CBS' "Face the Nation," which rates for only 30 minutes of its hour-long program, was retitled this past Sunday.

Watch this past Sunday's show, and follow "Meet the Press" on Twitter and on Facebook for the latest.

Tune in to MSNBC weekdays at 5 p.m. ET for "MTP Daily" and this coming Sunday, Sept. 4 for a brand-new "Meet the Press with Chuck Todd."
