MSNBC.com reports Liza Minnelli will return to the stage after collapsing on-stage during a show in Sweden three weeks ago. "The 61-year-old entertainer was doing fine and preparing for her next gig, Minnelli's lawyer, Allen Arrow, told The Associated Press on Wednesday."

Minnelli collapsed while exiting the stage at a concert in Goteberg, Sweden on Wednesday, December 12.  She was then rushed to a hospital and returned to the United States for rest.  The cause of the collapse was unknown.

Arrow adds that the legendary stage and screen actress will return to rehearsals soon and resume her performance tour on Saturday, January 12 in Providence, Rhode Island.

Liza Minnelli, daughter to Judy Garland, is a fixture of American entertainment. She received a Tony Award for her 1965 performance in Flora the Red Menace. Teamed with legend choreographer, Bob Fosse, Minnelli won the 1972 Academy Award for her performance in the role of Sally Bowles in Cabaret.  After the success of the movie, Fosse and Minnelli created her hit solo-concert "Liza with a Z," for which she won the 1972 Emmy Award.  Minnelli's other screen credits include New York New York and A Matter of Time.  She appeared as a sub for Julie Andrews in the 1996 Broadway musical Victor/Victoria. Minnelli earned her first Academy Award nomination for her performance in The Sterile Cuckoo. She won a special Tony in 1974 for her concert engagement at NY's Winter Garden, and a second Tony Award for The Act in 1978. She was nominated for another Tony Award in 1984 for The Rink but lost to her costar, Chita Rivera.
