Lin-Manuel Miranda and his hip-hop/rap group, Freestyle Love Supreme, will perform at New York's Gramercy Theatre at 7pm on August 5.  Miranda founded the group at Wesleyan University along with Bill Sherman, Anthony Veneziale, and Thomas Kail; others joined the group in New York.  In performance, Freestyle Love Supreme uses words supplied by the audience in order to create new rap songs.

Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the music and lyrics for IN THE HEIGHTS, winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography, and Best Orchestrations.  He also starred in IN THE HEIGHTS as Usnavi and was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance.  Miranda's other credits include the Spanish lyrics and dialogue for the current Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY, as well as the revised version of WORKING.  On television, he has appeared on 'The Sopranos,' 'House,' and 'The Electric Company,' for which he is also a composer.
