So when does this man sleep anyway? According to Deadline, Lin-Manuel Miranda will compose eleven original songs for Sony Animation's upcoming film project VIVO. Miranda's IN THE HEIGHTS collaborator Quiara Alegria Hudes will pen the script with Kirk De Micco directing. The studio has fast-tracked the project, setting a December 18th 2020 release date.

This week, Miranda added to his many accolades by receiving a Golden Globe nomination for his original music featured in Disney's MOANA. In addition, "The Hamilton Mixtape," based on his hit Broadway musical HAMILTON, is currently in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.

VIVO will follow "the tale of a capuchin monkey with a thirst for adventure - and a passion for music - that makes a treacherous passage from Havana to Miami to fulfill his destiny." Miranda originally set the project with DreamWorks Animation over six years ago and began the task of writing songs for the film at that time. The project was put on hold for several years, and recently moved to Sony, where progress is once again underway.
