The Atlantic Theater presents Vincent by Leonard Nimoy January 30-31st with shows at 8:00 pm.

In Paris, 1890, Theo Van Gogh mourns the suicide of his beloved brother Vincent a week earlier, who died in his arms at the age of 37. Six months later Theo himself died, leaving Vincent's life story in the form of hundreds of soul-revealing letters to his brother.

Leonard Nimoy studied these letters and retells Vincent's story in Vincent's own words. Veteran award winning actor Dan DePaola recreates the world of the misunderstood genius giving the audience insight into the turbulent life and times of the great painter. Nimoy's powerfully moving play was performed on Broadway by Nimoy himself.

Vincent is a one of those rare bio-plays that successfully places the audience in the reincarnated presence of a genius and leads them through a tumultuous life leaving them the better for it. A meditation on the meaning of art and artistry in a world that measures success in sales. It's an evening of laughter and tears and insight into a gifted master.

DePaola  moved to South Florida 3 years ago. DePaola has been performing on stages all over the country for 40 years. He has worked Off Broadway in To the Moon where he played Ed Norton of Honeymooners fame. He worked over 5 years on the NBC show Homicide Life on the Street, has had both principal and supporting roles in made for TV movies and major motion pictures. Lead roles in Indie films where he won a Peer Award for best actor in 2002 for his role as Vincent Van Gogh in the film Full Moon Fables. He won a second Peer Award for best actor in 2007 for the role of Jebbie (the head rat) in Isreal Horiwitz's play Rats. He toured with Tony & Tina's Wedding, has several national and regional commercials to his credit and hundreds of industrial films. Most recently he directed Stuart Little at the new Borland Theater in Palm Beach Gardens and won best actor for the season at Lake Worth Playhouse for his role as Eddie Carbone in Arthur Miller's View from the Bridge.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $23 at the door with $18 tickets for students.
