Lauren Shera Sets New East Coast Tour Dates

Lauren Shera, who is currently on tour supporting Jackie Greene, will play a string of East Coast dates this spring. The dates, leading up to Shera's appearance at Old Settler's Music Festival on April 18, include stops in New York, Knoxville, Asheville and more. Shera's third album, Gold and Rust, is out now on DigSin. See below for full tour itinerary.

Paste says, "Lauren Shera's recent move from California to Nashville inspired much of her latest work [on Gold and Rust]" andThe Boston Globe calls Shera a "promising singer-songwriter." Shera played this year's Americana Festival in Nashville. She has also opened for notable acts including Billy Bragg, Jason Mraz, Ray LaMontagne and was one of three artists hand-picked for the inaugural Communion Presents tour.

Shera, who moved to Nashville the day after the final recording session for Gold and Rust, wrote the album as a musical farewell to her home state of California. "Making the record and finishing it, knowing that I was about to be leaving, inspired some of the songs," explains Shera. The album was recorded in Santa Cruz by Andy Zenczak, who also produced Shera's previous two releases, In My Bones (2006) and Once I Was a Bird (2010).
