According to published reports, Jonathan Groff has delayed filming on his upcoming movie 'The Normal Heart' to be with his best friend and 'Spring Awakening' co-star Lea Michele. Over the weekend, the actress learned of the tragic passing of her boyfriend and 'Glee' castmate Cory Monteith.

A source who reportedly "knows someone working with Jonathan in Manhattan on the film" revealed: "I was really sad for Lea. My friend in New York is working as a stage hand on the set of The Normal Heart with Jonathan Groff and he told me they canceled filming so that Jonathan could go be with her."

Monteith, best known for his role as Finn Hudson on the FOX TV series "Glee," was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver on Saturday, July 13th. The 31-year-old actor had been dating Michele over the past year.

Groff is set to portray 'Craig', Bruce Niles' first lover in the big screen adaptation of Larry Kramer's 'The Normal Heart.' He co-starred with Lea Michele in Broadway's Spring Awakening as well as on the Fox musical drama Glee. The actor has also appeared in the Shakespeare in the Park productions of HAIR and THE BACCHAE, the off-Broadway plays THE SINGING FOREST and A PRAYER FOR MY ENEMY. Other credits include GLEE, Ang Lee's TAKING WOODSTOCK, and most recently, in the Starz series BOSS, alongside Kelsey Grammer.
