MAD MEN's Jon Hamm could go holographic for the upcoming big screen adaptation of Jordan Harrison's 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist for drama, MARJORIE PRIME.

Deadline writes that the actor is in talks for the film version, written and directed by Michael Almereyda, who has helmed EXPERIMENTER, CYMBELINE, HAMLET, TWISTER and more.

MARJORIE PRIME centers on "an elderly, arthritic former violinist named Marjorie, staring headlong into the decline of old age as her memories begin to fail her. Availing herself of a service that provides holographic recreations of deceased loved ones as their survivors would like them remembered, Marjorie spends time with her daughter and son in law, and with an imperfect copy of her deceased husband, Walter, as he looked in his 30s and 40s."

Hamm would play Walter, with production aiming for an October start.

The actor recently finished his Emmy nominated run in the final season of AMC's MAD MEN. He can currently be seen on Netflix in WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: FIRST DAY OF CAMP and UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT, as well as the movie MINIONS. Hamm will next appear on the big screen in KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES.

Playwright Jordan Harrison's MARJORIE PRIME premiered onstage last year at Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles. Among Harrison's other works are KID-SIMPLE, THE MUSEUM PLAY, FINN IN THE UNDERWORLD, ACT A LADY, FUTURA, MAPLE AND VINE, SUPREMA, THE GROWN-UP and more.
