John Corbett to Join Jennifer Lopez & Kristin Chenoweth in THE BOY NEXT DOOR

John Corbett has boarded Blumhouse's next thriller, THE BOY NEXT DOOR, opposite Jennifer Lopez and Kristin Chenoweth, Deadline has confirmed. Rob Cohen will direct the film, which features a script by Barbara Curry.

In THE BOY NEXT DOOR, Lopez plays a recently separated mother who enters into a relationship with teenage boy - when she breaks things off suddenly, he channels FATAL ATTRACTION, and she discovers that he's not quite ready to let her go. Chenoweth will take on the role of her best friend, while Corbett will play Lopez's ex-husband.

Blumhouse Productions is just coming off of its increasingly successful INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, and has also lined up Aaron Eckhart to star in its next horror flick INCARNATE.

Corbett is best known for playing Chris Stevens on Northern Exposure from 1990 to 1995 and Aidan, Carrie Bradshaw's boyfriend, on Sex and the City and reprised this role for the series movie sequel Sex and the City 2. He also played the leading male role opposite Nia Vardalos in Vardalos's hit film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002). He starred in United States of Tara as Max Gregson, and has appeared on NBC dramedy Parenthood as Seth Holt.
