Chronicle Theatricals is honored to present a staged reading of Dan McCormick's play The Magpie Tree. Starring legendary Television, Film, Broadway & NAACP Image Award nominee Janet Hubert (Vivian Banks "Fresh Prince Of BelAir").

The Magpie Tree is a story of survival, of passion, of love...of dreams that yearn to be fulfilled in the face of adversity. And are! This play is universal in every sense of the word. Families, regardless of color, race, creed or religion are ripped apart by tragedy everyday. Lives are tested. Some buckle under, all come close, but the strongest survive and grow deeper because of experience. Family's stay together, because when push comes to shove, they're all they have. The Conrad's represent these ideals.

The Magpie Tree features a talented cast: Marley Nykole James (Rhiannon Conrad), Roland Lane (William Conrad Jr), De'Marcus Woods (John Henry), Sawandi Wilson (Fredrick "Magpie" Conrad) and NAACP Image Award & Audelco Award Nominee Dominic Marcus (Sinclair "Man" Thomas/Mr.Maddox).

Sita Johnson directs, and Angela T. Egic (Stage Manager), Shelby Coley (Production Assistant) and Sebastian Cudicio (Production Designer) are members of the production's creative team.
