Jane Kaczmarek is headed back to Fox.

The mad mother of MALCOM IN The Middle has officially signed on to co-star in the network's upcoming comedy pilot FRIENDS & FAMILY, Deadline reports.

The single-camera comedy comes from David Rosen, Sony TV, BBCWordwide Productions, and is an Americanized adaptation of the hit U.K. series GAVIN & STACEY. The series follows the two (Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel) as they attempt to maintain their relationship - originally formed online - while navigating through life with their offbeat families.

Kaczmarek will play Gavin's mother, Pam, an "overbearing Upper West Side mom who has zero verbal filter and little volume control."

Kurt Fuller, as we previously reported, has also signed on to star as as Pam's husband and Gavin's father.

Jane Tranter, Jule Gardner, and Henry Normal are set to executive produce along with James Corden and Ruth Jones, the original creators of GAVIN & STACEY.

Kaczmarek is well known for her work on stage, and on television. She starred for seven seasons on FOX TV's Malcolm in the Middle, earning seven consecutive Emmy Award nominations along the way. Other television work includes Raising the Bar, The Middle, Whitney, Wilfred, Felicity, Equal Justice, Paper Chase: The Second Year, Party of Five, Frasier, The Practice, St. Elsewhere, and Hill Street Blues. On stage, Kaczmarek most recently starred in David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People at The Geffen Playhouse, for which she is an Ovation Award nominee this year. She starred in Dinner With Friends and Raised in Captivity at South Coast Rep, and won an Ovation Award for her performance in Kindertransport at the Tiffany Theater in West Hollywood. Kaczmarek has appeared on Broadway, as well as in plays at the Manhattan Theatre Club, The Public Theater, Second Stage, Long Wharf, and the Berkshire and Williamstown Theatre Festivals, among others.
