with live performances and celebrity DJs

Doors at 10:30pm, Show at 11:00pm

$20 at door

RSVP to info@4kent.com

The Rewind Show is a vision we have had for as long as we have been in the business of night clubs and event planning. We are tired of the same concept that every night-club in NYC has been stuck with over the years and think that it's time to change the way to party! As we all know nothing can compare to a live performance and therefore we have created the Rewind Show! We want to bring an experience like no other by combining the live music of the 80's Rock & Roll era along with the best DJ's spinning the present hits. Every Saturday night, the Highline Ballroom will operate as a high-end night club to let people experience the Rewind Show. (http://therewindshow.com/)

MOUTH'S CRADLE

with Unisex Salon, Four Trips Ahead, Walk The Moon

Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 8:00pm

$10

Picture every guilty pleasure you've ever had; 50's soul, garage rock, ABBA, video game music and white boy hip-hop. Roll it up into a blur of Master Rogers' laptop beats and Mouf's frenzied lyricism, and you're pretty close. If you can imagine the musical equivalent of a sugar-rush, you can probably get a solid picture of Mouth's Cradle. Their debut EP, "Baby Teeth" was released in December 2009 and was covered on a number of highly regarded blogs. Their full length album, "The Next Big Thing" was featured on iTunes' "What's Hot" and "New & Noteworthy" sections and has gotten rave reviews. If you like hip-hop or pop, Mouth's Cradle can curb both of those cravings.

Pirate Vinyl and Green Light Go Present:

NEIL NATHAN'S RECORD AND VIDEO RELEASE PARTY

Featuring Featherweight, Golden Bloom, Neil Nathan, Alan Semerdjian

Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 7:00pm

$12 adv, $15 at door

It's safe to say that New York City's Neil Nathan is a fan of Detroit music. So it was only natural for the guitar man to travel to Detroit Rock City to record his debut LP, The Distance Calls, set for release August 24th, 2010. Nathan reached out to Bobby Harlow, a member of the seminal Detroit garage-rock group The Go (Jack White appeared on their Sub Pop release) to produce his debut full-length album. "Bobby Harlow is one of my favorite singer/songwriter/producers and I trusted him completely," gushes Nathan. So to the "D" he went, where Harlow collected some of the Motor City's finest rock musicians as Nathan's backing band. The all-star lineup included Dean Fertita (The Dead Weather, QOTSA), Kenny Tudrick and Joey Mazzola (Detroit Cobras), John Krautner (The Go), and Ross Westerbur (Deadstring Brothers). Recorded and mixed at acclaimed Tempermill Studios in 10 days, The Distance Calls effortlessly merges jangly pop rock with Nathan's mellower singer/songwriter side. With a dash of NYC glitter and some good old Detroit fuzz and stomp, it showcases a musician clearly influenced by the ‘70s (without being cliché).

Wednesday, July 21

BIG BAD VOODOO DADDY

Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm

$25 adv, $30 at door

BIG BAD VOODOO DADDY's eighth studio album, HOW BIG CAN YOU GET? A Tribute to Cab Calloway, captures the essence of an American icon in a rowdy celebration of musicianship, mischief, genius, street smarts, and fun. It's also possibly the timeliest and most welcome album of the year -- bringing a much-needed high-voltage jolt of winning, feel-good energy to a country slogging through tough times that may be getting tougher...exactly the way that Calloway's music did in the Depression-era America of his own youth. Longtime fans of "America's favorite little big band" will immediately recognize the album as a milestone in Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's multi platinum-selling sixteen-year career.

Thursday, July 22

Saturday, July 24

LOS TRES

with Claudio Valenzuela from Lucybell, Colt

Doors at 6:30pm, Show at 8:00pm

$30 adv, $40 at door

Los Tres, one of Chiles most important contributions to rock music, is back! Hagalo Usted Mismo (Do It Yourself) is the title of the trios latest studio album, the follow up to 2001s Freno de Mano and the tenth album in the bands storied career. Hagalo Usted Mismo combines melodic rock with traditional Chilean folkloric influences and instruments, as well as classic rock sounds. Camino, the first single, has an upbeat, vintage rockabilly sound; the single broke radio records for initial airplay on its Chilean release and has been going strong on rock stations throughout Mexico. The album, produced by Joe Blaney (The Clash, Prince, Charly Garcia) was recorded earlier this year in New York City and features the participation of drummer Steve Jordan (Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin) and Café Tacubas Emmanuel del Real, who in addition to contributing as an invited musician also produced and mixed several of the songs.

Sunday, July 25

Taylor Hicks

with Javier

Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm

$25 adv, $30 at door

Alabama's favorite son continues to be in "The Right Place" since becoming the fifth-season winner of American Idol. During the last three years, Taylor Hicks has seen his debut album certified platinum, performed with the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, The Allman Brothers and Willie Nelson, toured through Asia, penned a brisk-selling Random House memoir, and made his Broadway debut in Grease. In March 2009, the platinum-selling singer/songwriter released his latest album, The Distance, with complete control of direction and ownership of his masters on his solely owned and operated, Modern Whomp Records label via Artist To Market (A2M). Produced by Simon Climie (Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Faith Hill), and tapping the talents of guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, bassist Nathan East and drummer Abe Laboriel Jr., The Distance features eleven tracks, including his latest single "Seven Mile Breakdown." This country-driven track not only highlights Taylor's versatility, but also showcases that country-soul influence that shines through during his live performances.

THE MOTH GRANDSLAM XVII

Hosted by Dan Kennedy

Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 7:30pm

$20

The Moth presents the GrandSLAM, a battle of wits and words - fierce, hilarious, heartbreaking and all points between. The Moth is dedicated to finding intriguing people to tell inspired stories. At The Moth StorySLAM, those people find us. On this night, using words as weapons, they battle it out to determine The Moth's GrandSLAM Story Champion. The Moth, a not-for-profit storytelling organization, was founded in New York in 1997 by poet and novelist George Dawes Green, who wanted to recreate in New York the feeling of sultry summer evenings on his native St. Simon's Island, Georgia, where he and a small circle of friends would gather to spin spellbinding tales on his friend Wanda's porch. After moving to New York, George missed the sense of connection he had felt sharing stories with his friends back home, and he decided to invite a few friends over to his New York apartment to tell and hear stories. Thus the first "Moth" evening took place in his living room. Word of these captivating story nights quickly spread, and The Moth moved to bigger venues in New York. Today, The Moth conducts six ongoing programs and has brought more than 3,000 live stories to over 100,000 audience members.

STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO

with Crime In Stereo, The Wonder Years, Dan Potthast

Doors at 6:30pm, Show at 7:30pm

$19 adv, $22 at door

Seven guys, seven different musical backgrounds, seven different personalities, one band, one unique and unmistakable voice. Formed four years ago in New Jersey as an ad hoc group intended to put out one album and disappear, one thing lead to another and within a few months of their debut release, Everything Goes Numb, Streetlight Manifesto were officially a full time touring band, traveling the world, spreading their infectious and energetic tunes to all who would listen. One part rock, one part ska, with influences from latin, klezmer, folk, world, funk, jazz and classical thrown in, the band redefined what most people expected from a "ska" band. Three albums later, and after countless worldwide tours, the guys are still at it, still performing live to sold out shows filled with sweat drenched fans, all dancing and singing along at the top of their lungs. And the Streetlight boys wouldn't have it any other way.

Saturday, July 31

STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO

with Crime In Stereo, The Wonder Years, Dan Potthast

Doors at 6:30pm, Show at 7:30pm

$19 adv, $22 at door

Of all the various compliments Streetlight Manifesto have received from fans over the years, there is one in particular that seems to resonate most with the members of the band. After a show, a kid in torn jeans and a Pantera shirt, sporting ridiculous facial hair, will find one of the Streetlighters outside of the club and say hello, followed by "Man, I don't listen to this kind of music, in fact I hate most ska bands, but you guys are something else." Or it will be a jazz fan, sitting in the back of the venue during the set, bobbing his head, eyes closed while the band does their thing on stage. Or one of the club's stagehands will comment, while helping break down the lighting rig, that he actually enjoyed a band he was working for for once, despite having heard thousands of bands on the job over the years. And therein lies Streetlight Manifesto's appeal.
