The Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY is presenting two diverse performances in early 2017 as part of their CabarETC series. Villalobos Brothers, a contemporary high-octane Mexican folk group, will perform February 2nd and 3rd at 7:30 pm. Professional aerialist and cirque group ImaginAerial presents The Bizarre and Curious Quest of Killian Cog on March 2nd and 3rd at 7pm. All performances will take place at the Hangar Theatre, located at 801 Taughannock Blvd.

The Villalobos Brothers have been acclaimed as one of today's leading Contemporary Mexican ensembles. Using violins and voices, their music combines Mexican folk music with the intricate harmonies of jazz and classical music. Artistic Director Michael Barakiva is excited to bring these "rockstars" to the Hangar Theatre on February 2nd and 3rd at 7:30pm because "their energy and intensity are infectious. I promise this will be an unforgettable night of multicultural music." Originally from Veracruz, Mexico, the brothers (Ernesto, Alberto, and Luis) now reside in New York and perform with Humberto Flores (back-up vocals and guitar), Rosa Avila (drums), and Leo Sherman (bass). Tickets for the performances start at $20.
A group of professional aerialists and acrobatic artists, ImaginAerial, will bring its innovative entertainment to the Hangar Theatre on March 2nd and 3rd at 7pm. Originally a silk and trapeze duo, the company has grown into a large group of diverse performers. Based out of New York City, ImaginAerial performs for audiences internationally, including appearances in Greece, Portugal, Germany, and Romania. Through a "steampunk" lens, their show The Bizarre and Curious Quest of Killian Cog takes the audience on a cirque-style journey through time and space. Barakiva enjoys the narrative story incorporated in the cirque-act because it creates a "poetic and emotional experience" for the audience. "The thrust stage at the Hangar will only add to the magic of the performance." Using dynamic movement and visual storytelling, ImaginAerial is entertainment for the whole family. Tickets start at $25.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.HangarTheatre.org, by phone at (607) 273-ARTS (2787), or in person at the Hangar Theatre Business Offices in Center Ithaca on the commons (171 East State Street, Suite 230). Tickets are also available for purchase one hour before each performance at the Hangar Theatre.
