Hackmatack Playhouse's THE MUSIC MAN Now Playing Through 7/26

This summer's revival of "The Music Man" at Hackmatack Playhouse in Berwick is providing a fun night out (and "day" out, although Matinees are sold out) at Hackmatack Playhouse in Berwick.

An affectionate look at Smalltown, USA, "The Music Man is the story of a fast talking salesman as he cons the good people of River City, Iowa. Meredith Willson's score includes timeless American Music classics including "Til There was You," "Trouble in River City," "Wells Fargo Wagon," and of course "76 Trombones." Funny, warm, romantic and touching, The Music Man is family entertainment at its best.

It's actor Dan Clay's second time playing Professor Harold Hill at Hackmatack, ten years later. Clay lives just outside Philadelphia where he serves as Chair of Theatre and Dance at The Episcopal Aademy.

"The Music Man" is directed by Sharon Hilton, who has been around the barn theatre for over 45 years. She helped milk the cows long before anyone thought the barn might eventually be a theatre.

"The Music Man" Stage Manager is Shari Lockhart, Set Design by Jerard-Jame Craven, Musical Director Adam MacDougall, Costume Designer Fran Bechtold, Lighting Design by Michael Turner, and Choreographer is Crystal Lisbon.

"The Music Man" runs through Saturday, July 26. Show times are Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8:00, with Thursday matinees at 2:00. The 2014 schedule at Hackmatack Playhouse also includes Monty Python's "Spamalot," Wednesday, July 30 through Saturday, August 16; and "The Trip to Bountiful," Wednesday, August 20 through Saturday, August 30.

Hackmatack Playhouse (Route 9, Berwick, Maine) continues a tradition of affordable ticket prices with student, senior, and group discounts. Tickets are now on sale. Individual ticket prices are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors, Thursday senior special of $20, and $10 for students under age 20.
