"Hedwig and the Angry Inch" opens at Raleigh Little Theatre on Friday. The 1998 rock musical by John Cameron Mitchell replaces the originally scheduled production of "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson" in RLT's City Series. Directed by Jesse R. Gephart, the play features Chris Maxwell as Hedwig and Lydia D. Kinton as Yitzhak.

A special midnight performance on Saturday, May 16 will benefit the LGBT Center of Raleigh. Also, cabaret seats are available for all performances for just $12. These seats are attached to the stage and are ideal for fans who want to get up close and personal with Hedwig.

Chris Maxwell was recently seen in Theatre in the Park's "Pageant" as Miss West Coast. Lydia D. Kinton has appeared at Raleigh Little Theatre as Female Authority Figure in "Hairspray" and in the ensemble of "Spring Awakening."

The cast will perform selections from the show at Out Raleigh on Saturday, May 2. For more information about that event and specific performance times, visit http://www.outraleigh.org/.

"Hedwig and the Angry Inch" runs May 1 - 17 and is intended for mature audiences. Tickets for all events at RLT can be purchased by calling the box office (919)-821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m., or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org.
