Gallery New World Stages, located at 343 West 49th Street, today announced the upcoming opening of SPRING SALON: A Group Exhibition. This exhibition features 40 works of art and will be on view from April 12, 2013 through June 23, 2013, with an Opening Reception on Friday, April 12, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Featuring the works by Ercilia Cepeda, Mark J. Dempsey, Nancy Weezy Forman, Guillermo P. Lorente Perez, Bernard Stote, Johan Wahlstrom and Robert Wardell.

In the gallery lobby and orchestra level are Philadelphia based designer Nancy Weezy Forman large format giclée prints of rustic automobiles and nature. The vibrant colors are a wonderful experience to welcome in the new season of spring.

Robert Wardell a visiting artist from Colorado featured in the annex gallery with two of his mixed medium canvases that explore architectural elements and abstract imagery. Mexican based artist Ercilia Cepeda presents seven dramatic works that provoke our inner demons about life and death and the everyday misunderstandings of the mental processes.
The mezzanine gallery presents twenty selected works from Swedish-born artist Johan Wahlstrom, It's Boring to Die series. Four selected limited edition prints are also available to purchase from this series. Wahlstrom currently paints and makes his home in Barcelona.

In the lower level, photographer and research scientist Mark Dempsey exhibits an acrylic mount photograph from his Storm Watch series from Tornado Alley. Cuban-born artist Guillermo P. Lorente Perez presents two surrealistic paintings with his forced geometric viewpoints. Lorente is currently working on his graphic novel titled "K4", a story about the destiny of mankind. A new work by Bernard Stote entitled, Gridlock is also included in the exhibition. Stotes new series is using layers of deconstructed alphabets to create forced perspectives of space.

Gallery New World Stages is a 150 linear foot exhibition space on two floors of the renowned performing arts complex New World Stages, located on the site of Worldwide Plaza in the heart of the theatre district. New World Stages houses five theatres ranging in size from 199 to 499 seats, complemented by thousands of square feet dedicated to audience and artist services.
