Fashion Photo of the Day 3/21/13 - Kate Upton

Kate Upton wore a Louis Vuitton checkboard jacket from the Spring 2013 collection to the Samsung Spring launch event in NYC. I love this LV collection, particularly this jacket. Kate Upton's smiling all American face and gorgeous blonde hair complements the retro yellow and white jacket perfectly. It's just her styling that left me a little puzzled.

She started out great. Her hair and makeup are clean and simple which is the best way to go with such a standout piece. But she lost me with the jeans and the boots. I would have loved to see this jacket with the same blouse tucked into a more flared leg and a pointy toed pump. Or if she wanted to go with skinny jeans, I would have balanced out the boxy jacket with a longer top and then done a great pump. Her mistake was pairing the boxy jacket with heavy boots and losing the chance to accent her waiste anywhere or add length to her legs.
