The original off-Broadway cast of the musical FIVE COURSE LOVE (Minetta Lane Theatre, 2005) went into the studios on January 9th and 10th in New York City to record the show's cast album. FIVE COURSE LOVE, with book, music and lyrics by Gregg Coffin, tells the story of five entangled encounters with love in five different restaurants. The scores varied musical styles reflect the cuisines of the different eateries: Country & Western, Italian, German cabaret, Mexican and 50's Doo Wop.

Three actors play all fifteen different characters. Recreating their roles for the cast album are Heather Ayers (Young Frankenstein), John Bolton (CURTAINS) and Jeff Gurner (THE LION KING).

The cast album features Gerald Rheault on piano, Larry Kelly on bass and Chad Ryan Baker on drums. Craig Breitenbach and John Hawley are the recording engineers. The album is produced by Little Spaceman Music and will be released sometime in the spring of 2009.

FIVE COURSE LOVE was originally produced off-Broadway by Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, NY (Mark Cuddy, artistic director) and The Five Course Love Company, LLC. The production was directed by Emma Griffin with choreography by Mindy Cooper, musical direction by Fred Tessler, orchestrations by David Labman, backup vocals by Erin Maguire and Billy Sharpe, sets and costumes by G. W. Mercier, lights by Mark Barton and sound by Rob Kaplowitz.

Since it's off-Broadway run, FIVE COURSE LOVE has had over 15 productions, most recently in Seoul, South Korea. Next up for composer Gregg Coffin is a revised workshop of his new musical, RIGHTNEXTTOME, and the incidental music for A PRAYER FOR OWEN MEANY at the Denver Center Theatre Company.
