Eva Longoria to Team with The CW on New Legal Drama

Deadline reports that The CW will join forces with Eva Longoria on a new legal drama. The project will be penned by Nikita co-executive producer Albert Kim.

The currently untitled drama will follow "a woman imprisoned for a double murder she didn't commit who earns her law degree while behind bars, then wins her freedom and joins the high-powered law firm that she believes is at the center of the conspiracy that framed her."

Longoria's UnbeliEVAble Entertainment is producing alongside Warner Bros Television.

The actress has received two Screen Actors Guild Awards and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Longoria promotes humanitarian causes and was named Philanthropist of the year.

Longoria portrayed Isabella Braña on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless from 2001 to 2003, and Gabrielle Solis on the ABC television series Desperate Housewives. For her work on Desperate Housewives, she received a Golden Globe Award nomination. She has also starred in films such as Harsh Times (2005), The Sentinel (2006), and Over Her Dead Body (2008).
