Children can take a musical journey onto an amazing Artic island through the music and multimedia performance, Elska "Middle of Nowhere," which will be presented at The Alden in McLean at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1. Tickets are $15, $10 for McLean district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue inside the McLean Community Center.

The character of Elska was created in 2009 after actress Shelley Wollert took a trip to Iceland with her producer Allen Farmelo "I was completely inspired by the other-worldly sights and sounds of this beautiful, volcanic country," she said. Elska (which means "love" in Icelandic) is a completely imaginary world onto itself, filled with unusual characters and stories all taking place on a tiny, Arctic island. Through videos, artwork and music, children can enter Elska's world to play and imagine. It is a mesmerizing concert experience that both parents and children can enjoy.
