The East Coast Chamber Orchestra will perform in the finale of the 15th season Cooperstown Summer Music Festival, on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:30 pm at The Farmers' Museum.

The Festival finale on August 21 is a return performance of the East Coast Chamber Orchestra. This 13-member strong ensemble, comprised of members of major orchestras, string quartets and GRAMMY-award winners, will perform Mozart, Ravel, and a new work, Virtuosity, by David Ludwig that ECCO will premiere August 18 at the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival.

"This piece started with that title, as I was also thinking of the concept of virtuosity already as it related to the East Coast Chamber Orchestra, an extraordinary ensemble comprised of all-virtuoso players. I decided that the best way to explore the idea was to make a piece made of "micro-concertos," so that I could express virtuosity in different ways with each string instrument," explains David Ludwig.

In addition to this brand-new piece, ECCO will perform classical masterworks by Ravel and Mozart arranged for string orchestra.

Tickets are available online, CooperstownMusicFest.org and by phone through Brown Paper Tickets, 800.838.3006. Tickets also will be sold at the door, as available. Tickets are $25 for adults; $15 for students 6-18. For more information, go to CooperstownMusicFest.org.
