"Can we try that in B flat?" Improving Your Relationship With Music with featured speaker Dr. Brad Ingrao Au.D a.k.a. Doc Otoblock Audiologist, HLAA Columnist, Musician, is set for tonight, January 28, 2014 6:00 PM at the Center for Arts & Humanities 1226 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota (North of Downtown between 12th and 13th Street).

Why does hearing technology help us hear speech well, but music "just isn't the same?" Why is music such a challenge for people with hearing loss?

Some real-world advice on how to reduce the frustration and make listening to music more enjoyable

This session will provide basic communication strategies to handle the toughest hearing situations and understand your role in effective communication. Audience members will be encouraged to share their particular hearing challenges in a lively rap session. Our speaker will share communication tips which empower everyone in the listening situation to feel heard and understood.

The Hearing Loss Association of America-Sarasota Chapter offers education, advocacy and support
for those with hearing loss and their families. After Hours meets every other month - (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov) at 6 pm. We also have meetings featuring expert speakers on the second Wednesday of every month at 1:30 pm at the North Sarasota Library. Meetings are always open to the community.
