Dominic West to Star in WASTE at the National This Fall?

According to the Daily Mail, Dominic West is in talks to star in Harley Granville Barker's WASTE, directed by Roger Michell at the National Theatre this fall.

Waste, originally staged at the Westminster Theatre in 1936, follows independent politician Henry Trebell, who plans to dissolve the Church of England and finds himself in ruin after an affair with a married woman.

West, who recently starred on the big screen in Pride, last appeared on Broadway in 2001's Design For Living.

Among his UK theatre credits are The Seagull at the Old Vic, As You Like It at Wyndham's, The Voysey Inheritance at the Royal National Theatre, Rock 'n' Roll in the West End, Butley at the Duchess, and Butley and My Fair Lady at Sheffield.

West is well known for his portrayal of 'Detective Jimmy McNulty' in HBO's The Wire. The actor has also recently appeared on the small screen in The Affair and the TV movie Burton and Taylor.
