Dodger Theatricals will turn over the management of its off-Broadway venue Dodger Stages (340 W. 50th St., between 8th and 9th Avenues) to another company.

On March 15th, Dodger Stages will pass the management mantle onto former business partner Stage Entertainment, the European entertainment group "that has been an option since the companies split earlier this year," according to a Variety article.

The Dodgers are giving up Dodger Stages--at which hit productions of Altar Boyz and Naked Boys Singing are currently playing--in order to focus on the production activities of the organization. Dodgers Theatricals has a hit on its hands with Jersey Boys, but its shows Dracula and Good Vibrations were box office failures. High hopes, too, are attached to the upcoming revival of The Wiz.

The staffing of Dodger Stages, which holds five theatres, will not change. However, the staff will be making a few slight changes among themselves.
"It's a bit more autonomy, since now we'll be in charge of programming," stated Beverley D. MacKeen, the venue's managing director. "And we will continue to explore making Dodger Stages a multi-arts center as opposed to 100% theater." Also playing at Dodger Stages are the percussion-and-movement show Drumstruck and the comedy A Mother, A Daughter and a Gun. The Great American Trailer Park Musical recently played at Dodger Stages as well.
