A diving trip in Hawaii leads a woman to make an intriguing discovery that sends her and a friend on a life-and-death adventure in Dini Duclos' new novel, "Danger from Fifty Feet Below" (published by Archway Publishing).

While scuba diving off the coast of Hawaii, Gina comes across what appears to be a little rock, but in fact is much more than that. She begins to refer to the object as her "little friend" because of the unique qualities it possesses and keeps it with her at all times.

When a big pharmaceutical company becomes interested in the rock, the lives of Gina and Carol, her diving partner and roommate, are turned upside down. The story follows them on a series of exhilarating adventures, taking readers to the Caribbean Islands of Grand Cayman, Bonaire and Cozumel, both underwater and above ground, before returning to Hawaii.

An excerpt from "Danger from Fifty Feet Below":

"I took a moment to catch my breath and reflect how it all had started. It didn't seem possible that a simple dive trip could end up with us running for our lives. I thought about how my relatively calm life had been changed by the fact that I learned to scuba dive and had come to love diving. I had no idea this was going to happen to me in my lifetime."
