Southern California synthpop group Carved Souls are set to launch their debut album on Cleopatra Records this September 16.

The band originated as an orchestral instrumental project to create music for film shorts and commercials, but in 2003 as the member's creative energies merged and gathered momentum, the group was revisited with an entirely new approach.

Influenced by synth-pop/darkwave and other styles Carved Souls started composing and decided to explore other medias by developing new ideas and sound techniques. Through this new combination of elements, the quartet featuring Suede on vocals, Legion on keys, Gotham on bass/keys, and Krz on drums forged the fundamental sound of Carved Souls.

With the new album Whispers, Carved Souls has taken another huge step forward. With tracks like "Satellite," "Worthless," and "Dark Reflection," Carved Souls seek to bring their unqiue, analogue sound to the dark underground. Not forgetting their cinematic roots, the band filmed a gorgeous, erotic-horror video for the song "Dark Reflection."
