Daniela Sindram will sing the role of Octavian and Rúni Brattaberg will sing the role of Baron Ochs in this evening's performance of Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier. Géraldine Chauvet and Peter Rose, originally scheduled to sing the roles, have withdrawn due to illness.

Daniela Sindram made her Met debut on December 3 as Octavian and also sang the role on December 7 and 10. The German mezzo-soprano has sung Octavian with numerous opera companies, including Dresden State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Karlsruhe State Opera, and Nuremberg State Opera.

Rúni Brattaberg made his Met debut as Titurel in last season's new production of Wagner's Parsifal and will make his company role debut as Ochs in tonight's performance. The Danish bass has previously sung the role with Lübeck Opera, Bremen Opera, and Cincinnati Opera; later this season, he will sing the role at Malmö Opera.

Der Rosenkavalier is conducted by Edward Gardner and also stars Martina Serafin as the Marschallin; Erin Morley as Sophie; Eric Cutler as the Italian Singer; and Hans-Joachim Ketelsen as Faninal.
