DANCING WITH THE STARS Maks Chmerkovskiy to Debut on 'General Hospital' Today

Long-time DANCING WITH THE STARS dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy will be making his acting debut on the daytime sudser General Hospital today. The news was revealed by GH producer Ron Carlivati on Wednesday (March 27) who tweeted "Tomorrow on General Hospital, Richard Simmons & Maksim Chmerkovkiy (sic). 'Nuff said."

Chmerkovskiy will portray a new character on the soap named Anton Ivanov. He is expected to act in scenes alongside former Dancing with the Stars contestant Kelly Monaco.

Maks, who over the last few seasons has caused controversy with his comments towards the judges, also tweeted the news of his acting debut, posting, "Definitely had the best table at the [Nurse's] Ball [on General Hospital] ;)"

Chmerkovskiy is currrently not competing on this season of the ABC dance competition but remains under contract with the show.
