Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven will be teaming up together for a string of Northern California dates in late December as part of their "Drifting Down The Coast Tour." This run is in further support of Camper Van Beethoven's acclaimed studio album La Costa Perdida from earlier this year, an effort that pays homage to the northern and rural California regions where CVB first cut their teeth together as a band.
Cracker has also re-recorded a decidedly rootsier take of their 2006 song "I Need Better Friends," which features a line from where the title of their Dec. tour came from. This track finds frontman David Lowery reminiscing about his earlier days along the Northern California coast - "smoking lots of weed & buying vintage analog synthesizers... from Point Arena to Stinson Beach...from Arcata to Bodega Bay."

Cracker will then ring in the New Year on Dec. 31st in Chicagoland, prior to joining up with CVB again for a handful of East Coast shows in January. The two bands will finish out the month as they co-host their second annual three-day CAMP-IN fest at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA.
And if that wasn't enough, Camper Van Beethoven's two quintessential '80s albums, Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart and Key Lime Pie, will both be reissued Feb. 4, 2014 on 180-Gram Vinyl and CD with bonus tracks via Omnivore Recordings.
