amfAR will honor Cher, Felipe Diniz and Jean Paul Gaultier at the fifth annual Inspiration Gala São Paulo on April 10, 2015, in recognition of their contributions to the fight against AIDS. The event will feature special performances by Kylie Minogue and Alicone.

Felipe Diniz hosted the first Inspiration São Paulo event at his home in 2011, and he and the Diniz family have been central to the series' success in Brazil since its inception. Fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier is a longtime supporter of amfAR, readily offering his tremendous creative and philanthropic resources to help the Foundation raise HIV/AIDS awareness and funds for its lifesaving research programs. Most recently, Gaultier teamed up with amfAR to produce a special edition summer tote, with proceeds benefiting the search for a cure.

Cher has won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, three Golden Globes, and a Cannes Film Festival Award for her work in film, music, and television. She began her career as a backup singer and came to prominence in 1965 as one-half of the pop rock duo Sonny & Cher with the success of their song "I Got You Babe".

She subsequently established herself as a solo recording artist and became a television star in 1971 with The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, a variety show for which she won a Golden Globe. A well-received performance in the film Silkwood earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress of 1983. In the following years, she starred in a string of hit films including Mask, The Witches of Eastwick, and Moonstruck, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1988.

In previous years, the São Paulo gala has featured performances by Mary J. Blige, Grace Jones, Gilberto Gil, Dita Von Teese, Bebel Gilberto, Preta Gil, and Jennifer Hudson. Past honorees include Francisco Costa, John Demsey, Nizan Guanaes, Donata Meirelles, Fergie, Janet Jackson, Pelé, and Mario Testino. Speakers and presenters have included amfAR Global Fundraising Chairman Sharon Stone, Claire Danes, Deborah Harry, and Josh Duhamel. To date, the Inspiration series has raised nearly $20 million for amfAR.
