Cassandra Kubinski to Film Video in Support of Autism Charities

Producer Daniel Neiden and Living Lotus Project are teaming up with celebrated singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski to film her music video, "Not So Different" co-produced and directed by Nick Lopez and Paula Gil of 27 Jesters Productions. Leman Manhattan Preparatory School has donated their facilities for the January 26th filming.

As a performer, Kubinski has been seen in the title role in Goodspeed Musicals' 20th anniversary of ANNIE; and Tom Jones / Harvey Schmidt's MIRETTE. She has become a regular guest singer at venues including Metropolitan Room; Bitter End; 54 Below/Backstage; and Jim Caruso's Cast Party at Birdland. She was a principal composer/performer in Elizabeth Lucas' film, Clear Blue Tuesday with Becca Ayers, Greg Naughton, and Jeremy Schonfeld; and has collaborated with Billy Joel who said of her, "Cassandra Kubinski is a rarity...very similar to the legendary solo artists of the early to mid 1970's...she proves that the genre [singer/songwriter] is not only alive and well, but that it is still capable of being transcendent."

Adds Kubinski, "Last October, my dear friend Vanessa, who has two young sons on the Autism spectrum, asked if I would write a song to support her Autism Speaks walk. I wrote "Not So Different" to inspire acceptance, love, and perseverance, and to give people dealing with autism an anthem that lets them know they are not alone. I want the song to raise $1 million in 2014 for autism programs, research, and community support and share its message with millions of people."

Kubinski's "Not So Different" is about acceptance and understanding. Looking to the beauty that each person adds to the world as the song says, "It takes every color on the spectrum to make the world so bright...love speaks in a million ways." Ultimately, it's about understanding that everyone wants the same things: to love and be loved without being judged or changed.
