'Cagney & Lacey' Star Paul Mantee Dies at 82

Veteran actor Paul Mantee, known best for the sci-fi cult classic Robinson Crusoe on Mars, has died at age 82.

Mantee starred in a handful of films, including the cult classic, Robinson Crusoe on Mars. A restored version of the film was released in 2007 by The Criterion Collection. He also appeared on TV in the cop series Cagney & Lacey as Detective Al Corassa.

The actor authored two novels, In Search of the Perfect Ravioli (Ballantine Books, 1991) and Bruno of Hollywood (Ballantine Books, 1994).

He was married to Suzy Davis Mantee. He was formerly married to actress Ann Newman.
