CBS Sweeps Week in Viewers & Key Demos

CBS placed first for the week in viewers, adults 18-49 (tie) and adults 25-54 with the top two programs and six of the top 10, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending March 9.

THE BIG BANG THEORY and NCIS were the week's top two programs in viewers as CBS had six of the top 10 broadcasts - NCIS: Los Angeles #5, Blue Bloods #7, The Millers #8 and Criminal Minds #9.

THE BIG BANG THEORY was the week's top broadcast in adults 18-49 with How I Met Your Mother and The Millers finishing in the top 10.

SURVIVOR finished in its closest competitive position with "American Idol Wednesday" in their common hour (-880,000 viewers) to date and by less than -1 million viewers for the first time ever. In their common hour, Criminal Minds topped "American Idol" in viewers for the second consecutive head-to-head match and matched its closest competitive position in adults 18-49.

THE BIG BANG THEORY posted its best ratings since January; Two and a Half Men posted its best ratings performances since its season premiere while beating "Grey's Anatomy" in their common half-hour for the first time this season in adults 18-49 and posting the largest margins of victory in both viewers and adults 25-54 season-to-date.

CRIMINAL MINDS

CRIMINAL MINDS was first in viewers (11.42m) and second in adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.6/07, -0.1 behind FOX). Compared to last week at 10:00 PM, Criminal Minds was up +17% in adults 25-54 (from 3.0/08), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 2.2/07) and added +2.00m viewers (from 9.42m, +21%). In their common hour, Criminal Minds topped "American Idol" in viewers for the second consecutive head to head match up and matched its closest competitive position in adults 18-49 (-0.1).


TWO AND A HALF MEN

TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in viewers (10.38m), adults 25-54 (3.9/10), and adults 18-49 (2.6/08), beating "Grey's Anatomy" in their common half-hour for the first time this season in adults 18-49, while posting the largest margins of victory in both viewers and adults 25-54 season-to-date. Two and a Half Men posted its deliveries in these measures since the Sept. 27 season premiere.


THE AMAZING RACE

THE AMAZING RACE was first in viewers (8.46m), second in adults 25-54 (2.6/07) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.9/06) - all measures posting season-best performances. Compared to last week, The Amazing Race was up +24% in adults 25-54 (from 2.1/05), +27% in adults 18-49 (from 1.5/04) and added +2.36m viewers (from 6.10m, +39%).


THE BIG BANG THEORY

THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in viewers (18.09m), adults 25-54 (7.1/20) and adults 18-49 (5.3/17), up +4% in adults 25-54 (from 6.8/19), +6% in adults 18-49 (from 5.0/16) and added +360,000 viewers (from 17.73m, +2%) from last week. The Big Bang Theory posted the its best viewers delivery since Jan. 30, 2014, best adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 ratings since Jan. 9.


NCIS

NCIS was first in viewers (17.85m) and second in both adults 25-54 (3.8/10) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07). Compared to last week, NCIS added +820,000 viewers (from 17.03m, +5%). NCIS was the night's #1 program in viewers, top scripted program in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 (tie, "About a Boy").


THE MILLERS

THE MILLERS was first in viewers (11.58m), adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and adults 18-49 (2.9/09) - beating "American Idol" by +28% in adults 25-54, +32% in adults 18-49 and by +1.42m viewers (+13%) in the common half-hour.


SURVIVOR

SURVIVOR was second in viewers (9.58m), adults 25-54 (3.3/09) and adults 18-49 (2.4/08). Compared to last week's two-hour season premiere, Survivor was up +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.2/08), even in adults 18-49 and added +160,000 viewers (from 9.42m, +2%). Survivor finished in its closest competitive position with "American Idol Wednesday" in their common hour (-880,000) to date and by less than -1 million viewers for the first time ever.
