Brooke Shields Signs On as ARMY WIVES Series Regular
Broadway vet Brooke Shields has officially signed on as a series regular for Lifetime's ARMY WIVES' upcoming season 7. The actress will play Katherine 'Kat' Young, a pilot who has no problem living the boy's club of the military. After being assigned to Joint Base Marshall Bring, she immediately head-butts with General Michael Holden (Brian McNamara). In a power struggle, Kat attempts to hide her tragic past from Holden to keep the upper hand.
In the past decade, Shields has won rave reviews and has established herself as an acclaimed Broadway musical leading lady with her performances as Ruth in Wonderful Town, Roxie Hart in Chicago and Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Her Broadway debut came in 1994 as Rizzo in Grease, for which she won a Theatre World Award. She most recently appeared in the role of Morticia in Broadway's 'The Addams Family.'
Army Wives follows the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women - and one man - living with their spouses and families on an active Army post. The series stars Catherine Bell, Brian McNamara, Kelli Williams, Wendy Davis, Terry Serpico, Alyssa Diaz and JJ Soria. Sally Pressman and Sterling K. Brown will also appear in several episodes.
Produced by ABC Studios, with Mark Gordon and Jeff Melvoin serving as executive producers, the series is based on the book Army Wives: The Unwritten Code of Military Marriage by Tanya Biank, who serves as a consultant.
