PEOPLE reports exclusively that Donnie Osmond will undergo vocal cord surgery in the near future, according to his rep. The site reports that doctors recently discovered a hemorrhagic polyp, also known as a bleeding lesion, on the 57-year-old's right vocal cord.

Harvard Medical School's Dr. Steven M. Zeitel will perform the surgery. He has previously performed the same procedure on music LEGENDS John Mayer, Adele, Sam Smith and Lionel Richie.

Osmond is expected to reschedule several solo concerts which were planned for September, but will return to his Las Vegas show at the Flamingo Hotel, along with sister Marie, beginning this October.

The legendary singer released his 60th album, 'Soundtrack of My Life' on January 13, 2015. Each track on the LP tells a story, tracing the high and low points of both his professional and personal life from becoming a child star to achieving multiple No.1s, selling over 100 million records, and becoming a worldwide heartthrob.

In 1982, Osmond made his Broadway debut in Little Johnny Jones. He also starred as Gaston in the musical Beauty and the Beast, as well as Broadway's 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.' In 2010, he teamed with his sister Marie for a return to Broadway in 'A Broadway Christmas.'

Donny, together with his sister Marie, recently won (for the third consecutive year) the Best of Las Vegas Award for their show.
