LIFESAVER "centers on two polar opposites, the uptight, controlling and a bit neurotic Dr. Graham Permenter (Borle) and loose cannon Leon (Jonathan Ryland), who become inextricably linked after Leon saves Graham's life by giving him a kidney".

The comedy will be produced by Universal TV and Peter Traugott's TBD Entertainment.

Borle will next be seen in the TV movie Lucky Duck. He also appeared in the NBC's musical series Smash and recently starred opposite country singer Carrie Underwood, True Blood's Stephen Moyer, and fellow stage star Laura Benanti in NBC's live undertaking of the classic musical The Sound of Music.

Borle won the 2012 Tony Award for his performance in Broadway's Peter and the Starcatcher. He has also appeared on Broadway in Legally Blonde (for which he was also nominated for a Tony Award), Mary Poppins, Spamalot, Amour, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jesus Christ Superstar and Footloose.
