The runaway Broadway hit JERSEY BOYS, winner of the four 2006 Tony(r) Awards including for Best Musical, has set new house records on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre and in San Francisco at the Curran Theatre. The gross for the record-breaking week on Broadway ending December 31 was $1,216,173, marking the 21st time the show has topped itself since it opened in November, 2005. The San Francisco production broke its own house record at the Curran Theatre with a gross of $1,129,748.
Jersey Boys is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, about a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty.
Jersey Boys is written by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and is directed by two-time Tony(r) Award-winner Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.
Jersey Boys opened to critical acclaim at the August Wilson Theatre on November 6, 2005. The National Tour of Jersey Boys opened to rave reviews on December 10 at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco where it has just been extended to March 25.
