Brian Stokes Mitchell, Wynonna, Brad Garrett, Howie Mandel & More Added to Scottsdale Center's 2014-15 Season

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has added more than 40 new events to its star-studded 2014-15 season. Tickets for the new additions will go on sale Saturday, July 19, at 10 a.m. through www.ScottsdalePerformingArts.org or 480-499-TKTS (8587).

The Center's season will kick off Aug. 26 with country-music icon Wynonna & The Big Noise. Other musical events will feature Spanish guitar maestro Angel Romero with The Aeolus Quartet on Dec. 12, Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell in Simply Broadway on March 7, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn on March 13, and two concerts under the stars in Scottsdale Civic Center Amphitheater with country-music star Jo Dee Messina on April 3 and the acclaimed bluegrass band Dailey & Vincent on April 24.


Known for playing Ray Romano's big brother on the hit sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian Brad Garrett will perform his adults-only stand-up act on Nov. 15. Deal or No Deal host and America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel will give two stand-up performances on Jan. 10.

By popular demand, football legend Terry Bradshaw will perform an additional night of his autobiographical show America's Favorite Dumb Blonde ... A Life in Four Quarters on Jan. 22, and the national tour of Menopause The Musical will return for a week-long run beginning March 31.

Actor and comedian Kevin Pollak will present the live stage version of his hit online talk show on March 14, with a surprise guest to be announced. Other spoken-word events will include the ASU Center for Science & the Imagination's ASU Science Fiction TV Dinner on Sept. 30 and Ignite Phoenix No. 17 on May 9.

The Brazilian Day Arizona festival will return on Sept. 6, and the Small Business Saturday Artists Market on Nov. 29. Arizona tribes will celebrate and share their culture at the Arizona Indian Festival on Jan. 29-31. Winner of the 2014 Grammy Award for "Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album," the red-hot L.A.-based band La Santa Cecilia will perform a free outdoor concert on March 1 as part of La Gran Fiesta: A Festival of Latin and Hispanic Cultures.

The Scottsdale International Film Festival will host its opening day and night screenings in the Virginia G. Piper Theater on Oct. 9. Harlan Jacobson's Talk Cinema sneak-preview film series will open on Jan. 13 and run through April 21. San Francisco Opera's Grand Opera Cinema Series will return with four HD screenings: Saint-Saens' Samson and Delilah on Jan. 21, Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia on Feb. 18, Verdi's Rigoletto on March 18 and Boito's Mefistofele on April 15.

Showcasing the talented faculty and students of the Arizona State University Herberger Institute School of Music, the ASU Concerts at the Center series will return with 14 performances from Oct. 27 through April 27 spanning classical to jazz and big band.

The Center will offer three school and family matinee performances: the Story Pirates Greatest Hits on Nov. 19 and dance companies Momix on March 20 and Noche Flamenca on April 24.

All of the Center's 2014-15 events are showcased in its newly published 45-page season guide, which may be viewed or downloaded through www.ScottsdalePerformingArts.org on July 19. Patrons also may request to receive a free printed copy of the guide by mail.

As part of its ongoing commitment to making the arts accessible, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts offers a range of ticket prices for every budget, as well as discounts for members and package and group sales.
