Rock and roll legend, TV personality, philanthropist and entrepreneur Bret Michaels announces a $10,000 donation to Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit from the Bret Michaels Life Foundation to help fund Goodwill's mission of putting Metro Detroiters with employment challenges to work.

Michaels visited Detroit to perform at the sold out "Rock for Jobs" concert held at MotorCity Casino Hotel's Sound Board to benefit Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. He made the announcement during a visit to Goodwill's Dearborn retail store, where viewing the organization's mission in action moved him.

"When I heard about the Goodwill Rock for Jobs Concert, for me, it was an opportunity I could not pass up," said Bret Michaels. "Detroiters have always supported Poison and The Bret Michaels Band and we are truly thankful to give back to this great community. The job training and placement opportunities that Goodwill provides in the Detroit area are amazing. I was blown away with the Dearborn store tour as well as the team members I met. The $10,000 donation from the Bret Michaels Life Foundation to Goodwill will assist Goodwill in continuing their work in Detroit. Thank you for letting me be a part of it," he added.

"Bret Michaels' donation to Goodwill will provide job education, training and placement services to hundreds of Metro Detroiters facing employment challenges. Beyond creating jobs, his support will also help sustain families and restore hope to many of our Goodwill trainees. His generosity and commitment to Detroit and Goodwill are inspiring, and highlights the compassionate spirit that his fans around the world appreciate and admire," said Lorna G. Utley, president and CEO, Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.
