A native of Rio de Janeiro and international vocal star, Carol Saboya is the daughter of Brazil's legendary pianist/composer Antônio Adolfo.

Her discography includes an impressive10 albums. Her debut album, "Dança da Voz," in 1998, won her Brazil's prestigious Sharp Award for "Best Brazilian New Female Vocalist." In 1999 she backed Tom Jobim on his "Janelas Abertas." She has also recorded on albums of many other Brazilian superstars, like Sérgio Mendes's classic "Brasileiro." She became a regular favorite on the Brazilian vocal scene with the release of her own next albums, "Sessão Passatempo," (2000), "Presente," (2003), and "Antonio Adolfo e Carol Saboya ao vivo/live" (2007). In 2007 she won the Tabaiba de Oro, Spain's Brazilian International Press Award. Continuing her recording, she performed songs by Mário Sève on her "Chão Aberto" (2008) and collaborated with Antonio Adolfo on his "Lá e Cá," which fuses Brazilian and American standards by Jobim, Cole Porter and other artists. Her most recent album, "Belezas -The Music of Ivan Lins and Milton Nascimento" (2012), is her first release in the US. It was on Jazz Week charts for multiple weeks, and was acclaimed by critics, receiving 4 stars from Downbeat Magazine. Other awards include the Tabaíba de Oro award as best female vocalist in a Festival in Spain, and she has twice received the prestigious Brazilian International Press Award.

This is Carol Saboya's first appearance at ZincBar in New York, and a rare opportunity to hear her in the intimate setting of this Greenwich Village landark jazz venue.
