BWW TV FLASHBACK : Rapp and Pascal Back In RENT!

Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal have returned to the Nederlander Theatre reprising the roles in RENT that they originated on Broadway. BroadwayWorld was there on Opening Night to capture all the excitement as this dynamic duo took to the stage - and then celebrated at a private party held at 44 1/2. Pascal (Aida, Cabaret, Rent film) and Rapp (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Precious Sons, Rent film) are once again playing the roles of Roger and Mark, respectively, for six weeks from July 30th through September 9th.

Rent, written by Jonathan Larson and directed by Michael Greif, opened at Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre, on April 29, 1996 following a history making, sold out, extended limited engagement at off-Broadway’s New York Theatre Workshop. The musical went on to win every major best musical award, including the Tony Award, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for drama. Rent is the seventh longest-running show in Broadway history. It continues its run at the Nederlander Theatre. The show also stars Tamyra Gray, Tonya Dixon, D'Monroe, Nicolette Hart, Troy Horne and Justin Johnson.

Producers of 'Rent' Announce Special Lottery for Final Performance; 32 Seats Available for $20
The hit musical Rent will close at the Nederlander Theatre on September 7th 2008. The producers have made available a limited number of $20 same-day tickets for the final performance. Lottery names will begin to be taken at 11am and the lottery will be drawn at noon. There will be 32 seats available (two fewer than usual due to the filming of the performance).

BWW TV: 'RENT' Flips For BroadwayWorld
On September 7, 2008 the curtain will fall on Broadway for the final performance of Rent. In celebration of the show and its history making run, we gave the cast a portable FLIP video camera so they could give us their view of life backstage. As they were able to film themselves, the FLIP video footage allows you to see and hear Rent from the actor's unique perspective.

Past and Present 'Rent' Cast Members Appear on Sirius Week of 9/1
Past and present cast members of the Tony Award®-winning musical Rent, including Idina Menzel, Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Tracie Thoms, Eden Espinosa, Adam Pascal and Gwen Stewart, will appear on SIRIUS' Broadway's Best channel for a week-long celebration of the show's final week on Broadway.
