Chinese cultural heritage in Indonesia has been one of the most prominent part in the development of Indonesia's culture. Various guidelines on bad or good human attitudes, of deception, ambition and greed that has been raised in the Chinese stories either through books or movies. In general, Indonesia's society familiar and love Chinese stories, especially stories with the martial arts warrior. It became the inspiration to stage "SRI ENG TAY" for Indonesia Kita's 21st performance, with the theme "Heritage of Indonesia: Dari Warisan Menjadi Wawasan (from Heritage to Insights)", to reflect Chinese cultural heritage into insight to various shades of present human behavior.

Indonesia Kita 2016 will held a theme "Heritage of Indonesia: Dari Warisan Menjadi Wawasan". Inevitably, Indonesia outsourced many works of cultural heritage. It is certain, the legacy is not merely artifacts, objects, old relics, sites, or other "physical" things. The legacy is also formed in a spirit and values, which continued to be processed and developed by the arts and culture perpetrators.

Indonesia Kita started to stage the show since 2011, and since then the dramas were held to be a "creative laboratory" for various artists, both cross-sector, cross-cultural and cross-generational. From one stage to another, eventually crystallized into an effort to understand better on how the process of "becoming Indonesia".
Indonesia Kita has become an art and culture forum that is open and trusting as a very important way to support the 'process of becoming Indonesia ".
Indonesia Kita are regularly and routinely held, finally been able to convince the audience to do what is often referred to by Butet Kartaredjasa as "religious culture"; a passion to support and appreciate art and culture works. Indonesia Kita's shows always got a good appreciation, positive feedback, and is capable of being not only the interaction space between the artist and the audience, but also among the audience. A cultural community is formed, in which the audience later attended shows by Indonesia Kita, as a form of "religious culture".

SRI ENG TAY is an attempt to combine a variety of Chinese cultural heritage in a show that could reflect contemporary issues. Tells the story of the martial world or Kang-Ouw's world that inspired by the variety of martial arts stories, as in the works of Kho Ping Ho, Chin Yung, Khu Lung and others, combined with legendary stories of Sam Pek Eng Tay and Wushu martial arts.

SRI ENG TAY begins with grief and agitated Go Bi Pai, a martial arts college that all of its members are women. Atmosphere of sorrow and anxiety occured due to the gossip of a warrior who would kill their Teacher. There is an old grudges resurface and it wants revenge. Kang-Ouw's world increasingly uproar, for the warrior is not an ordinary warrior. He reportedly has successfully claimed many lives of the great warriors.

All members of the college to prepare for the worst possibilities, including if the Teacher end up dead. Even before the Teacher had actually died, the disciples had already prepare a funeral. Off course, the students also discuss the possibility of his successor. This "preparation" developed into a seizure. Intrigue in that college was even more alarming, because the Teacher is not yet pass the silver bullet.

The Teacher confirms that the silver bullet will only be passed on to Eng Tay. This kick that is can only be played by women. When a man tries, they will be "effeminate". The problem is, Eng Tay was long gone from the college. It was unclear where Eng Tay go, maybe studying to other teacher. Eng Tay reportedly has been killed. It is very unclear. Apparently it is a ploy from the warriors to become Top Swordsman in the martial world, which makes a lot of martial arts college gathered the strength of themselves. Many associations, from Perkumpulan Pendekar Pengemis Sakti, Perkumpulan Pendekar Rajawali Mabuk, and others. Finally, the mysterious warrior appeared and a huge fight ensued. Who won the fight?

SRI ENG TAY will present for Indonesia Kita Program 2016, "Heritage of Indonesia: Dari Warisan Menjadi Wawasan", Friday - Saturday, 28 to 29 October 2016 at 8 PM in Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki. The Creative Team include Butet Kartaredjasa, Agus Noor, Bre Redana, Djaduk Ferianto. Artistic by Ong Hari Wahyu, and Music by Jakarta Street Music. The Players are Cak Lontong, Akbar, Marwoto, Yu Ning, Trio Gam (Gareng, Joned, Wisben), Henky Solaiman, Hans Huang, Wu Alena, Febrianti Nadira, Flora Simatupang, Wahab al-Fitr, Vivi Yip, Mira Rompas, and Bulgari (Group Wushu Jakarta).
