According to an Equity casting notice, Broadway will soon be seeing a revival of SMOKEY JOE'S CAFÉ, the songs of Leiber and Stoller.

Previews are to begin on or about Tuesday, July 19th with an opening night on or around August 18th.

Jerry Zaks, who directed the original 1995 production, which holds the record as Broadway's longest running revue (2036 performances) will helm the revival. It will be choreographed by Warren Carlyle, who won a Tony Award for AFTER MIDNIGHT and will be choreographing Roundabout's spring Broadway revival of SHE LOVES ME.

Sonny Paladino is music director and casting is by Tara Rubin Casting.

SMOKEY'S JOE'S CAFÉ celebrates the pop hits written by the team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller during the 1950s and 60s, including "Kansas City," "On Broadway," "Poison Ivy," "Yakety Yak," "Charlie Brown," "Hound Dog," 'I'm A Woman," " Love Potion #9," "Jailhouse Rock" and "Spanish Harlem."

SMOKEY'S JOE'S CAFÉ was nominated for seven 1995 Tony Awards.
