Atlantic Wind Symphony to Play Patchogue Theatre, 6/1

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in partnership with the Atlantic Wind Symphony will present BAND SELECTIONS TO DANCE BY: MUSIC WRITTEN TO CELEBRATE CULTURAL DANCE on Sunday, June 1 at 3:00 PM. Selections in this performance include Robert Russell Bennetts' "Suite of Old American Dances," David Holsingers' "Liturgical Dances," and "Yiddish Dances" by Adam Gorb. In addition, the concert will also feature the winner of our annual student solo competition performing with the professional members of the Atlantic Wind Symphony. The Atlantic Wind Symphony is Long Islands' oldest fully professional concert band featuring only Long Island musicians.

The Atlantic Wind Symphony is Long Islands' oldest fully professional concert band featuring only Long Island musicians. The Altantic Wind Symphony made its' Carnegie Hall debut on March 22, 1998, and recently performed at the Islip Arts Councils' "Play it Forward" concert at Heckscher Park on July 13, 2013. They will once again perform "Sousa Salutes our Armed Forces" at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on November 9, 2014 at 3:00 PM. The Atlantic Wind Symphony programs are funded or partially funded by Suffolk County. The Music Director is Joel Levy. www.atlanticwinds.org
