The new Broadway comedy An Act of God, starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jim Parsons, began performances on May 7 and officially opens tonight, May 28, 2015 at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). Scroll down to learn more about the company, plus watch interviews with Parsons and the team!

Joining Parsons will be two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Finian's Rainbow, Young Frankenstein) as "Michael" and Tim Kazurinsky ("SNL", Police Academy) as "Gabriel". An Act of God is written by God, transcribed by 13-time Emmy Award winner David Javerbaum and directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello.

An Act of God will feature scenic design by Tony Award winner Scott Pask (The Book of Mormon), costume design by Tony Award nominee David Zinn (Fun Home), lighting design by Hugh Vanstone (Matilda) sound design by Drama Desk Award winner Fitz Patton (It's Only A Play) and projection design by Drama Desk Award winner Peter Nigrini (Here Lies Love).

The King of the Universe is tackling His greatest challenge yet: Broadway. This spring, God takes the form of four-time Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jim Parsons in An Act of God, a 90-minute comedy where the Almighty and His devoted Angels answer some of the deepest questions that have plagued mankind since Creation. He's finally arrived to set the record straight... and He's not holding back!

Theater credits include Harvey (Broadway, Roundabout at Studio 54), The Normal Heart(Broadway, Golden Theatre, Theatre World Award nominee), Merton of the Movies(Broadway, Roundabout at Studio 54), The Castle (Manhattan Ensemble Theater), The Countess (San Diego, Globe Theater), The Tempest and As You Like It (Houston Shakespeare Festival). Television credits include "The Big Bang Theory"(Four-time Emmy winner, Golden Globe Award winner and SAG nominee), "The Normal Heart" (Emmy nominee), "Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas". Film credits include Home (DreamWorks Animation, March 27, 2015), ;Visions, Wish I Was Here, Garden State and School for Scoundrels. Parsons earned a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the Old Globe Theater/University of San Diego and a BA from the University of Houston.

TIM KAZURINSKY
Gabriel

Kazurinsky quit the ad biz to join Chicago's famed Second City Theatre (1977 - 1980). He was a cast member of NBC's "Saturday Night Live" (1981- 84) and played Officer Sweetchuck in 3 Police Academy films. A 20-year stint as a screenwriter (My Bodyguard, About Last Night,For Keeps, The Cherokee Kid, Strange Relations) followed. His pal George Wendt dragged Tim back on stage to do The Odd Couple. Most recently, he has done A Midsummer Night's Dream at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Old Jews Telling Jokes, and for the past year, played the Wizard of Oz in the 1st National Tour of Wicked.
