The Warner Bros. Harry Potter spinoff FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM has found a new star in Alison Sudol. Variety writes that the singer-songwriter will make her feature film debut in the movie, opposite previously announced Eddie Redmayne. Not only that, but Broadway's Josh Gad is in talks for another supporting role.

The much-anticipated adventure 'FANTASTIC BEASTS' is set in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World and follows 'Newt Scamander', a preeminent magizoologist (played by Redmayne) who in his travels has encountered and documented a myriad of magical creatures, ultimately leading to his penning the Hogwarts School textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Sudol, a singer-songwriter with the band A Fine Frenzy with TV credits including DIG and TRANSPARENT, will take on the role of 'Queenie', Tina's (played by INHERENT VICE's Katherine Waterston) younger sister, "who runs into Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) when he stops in New York City on his travels to find and document magical creatures."

THE BOOK OF MORMON and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST's Josh Gad is in the mix with THE OFFICE star John Krasinski for the part of 'Jacob'. The studio will make its official casting announcement "in the next few days."

David Yates (director of the last four "Harry Potter" films) will direct from Rowling's screenplay. The film is being produced by David Heyman, producer of all eight of the blockbuster "Harry Potter" features; J.K. Rowling; Steve Kloves, who scripted all but one of the "Harry Potter" films; and Lionel Wigram, who served as an executive producer on the last four installments of the franchise.

Warner Bros. Pictures has slated 'FANTASTIC BEASTS' for worldwide release in 3D and Imax on November 18, 2016.
