The American Theatre Wing's "Working in the Theatre" will take an in depth look at the creation of the new musical Grey Gardens with its creative team and leading actors on CUNY TV on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. The segment will repeat on Friday, Dec. 8 at 2 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m., and Sunday, Dec. 10 at 5 p.m.

The program brings together show stars Christine Ebersole, Mary Louise Wilson and Erin Davie with composer Scott Frankel, director Michael Grief, lyricist Michael Korie, and book writer Doug Wright, to discuss the critically acclaimed Grey Gardens. Sue Frost serves as moderator.

Grey Gardens "brings to life both the delightfully eccentric aunt and the cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Once among the brightest names in the pre-Camelot social register, these two women became East Hampton's most notorious recluses, living in a dilapidated 28-room mansion. Set in two eras– in 1941 when the estate was in its prime and in 1973 when it was reduced to squalor- the musical tells the alternately hilarious and heartbreaking story of two indomitable women, Edith Bouvier Beale and her adult daughter 'Little' Edie."

Tony Award-winning performer Christine Ebersole received the Obie Award, Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, Special Citation from NY Drama Critics and the Drama League Award for Performance of the Year for her dual roles as Edith and Edie Beale in Grey Gardens. Additional Broadway credits include Steel Magnolias, Dinner at Eight (Tony and Outer Critics Circle nominations), and 42nd Street (2001 Tony and Outer Critics Circle awards).

Tony Award-nominee Mary Louise Wilson was nominated for Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Lortel awards and was honored by the Drama League for her performance as Edith Boucier Beale in Grey Gardens. She won both an Obie and a Drama Desk Award for her performance in Full Gallop, a play about the legendary Diana Vreeland. Additional Broadway credits include the revival of Cabaret (Tony Award nomination), Showboat and Gypsy.

Erin Davie is making her Broadway debut as young "Little" Edie Beale. Her national tour credits include Swing!, and The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Scott Frankel was nominated for Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for his work as composer of Grey Gardens. As a musical director, conductor and pianist, he has been associated with the original Broadway productions of Into the Woods, Les Miserables, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Rags and Faslettos.

Director Michael Greif was nominated for Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Grey Gardens at Playwrights Horizons. His Broadway credits include Jonathan Larson's RENT (Tony nomination) and Never Gonna Dance.

Lyricist Michael Korie wrote the book and lyrics to Scott Frankel's music for Doll and Meet Mister Future, and librettos for operas composed by Stewart Wallace and Ricky Ian Gordon.

Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Wright was nominated for Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Book of a Musical for Grey Gardens. He received the Pulitzer Prize, a Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award, a GLAAD Media Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, a Drama League Award and a Lucille Lortel Award for I Am My Own Wife. In 1995, Wright won an Obie Award for his play Quills, the screen adaptation of which named Best Picture by the National Board of Review and nominated for three Academy Awards.

The ATW panels bring together theatre's best-known performers, producers, playwrights, directors, choreographers, composers, agents and others.
