2012 Tony Eligibility Decided for Taymor, Daly, SPIDER-MAN, FOLLIES & More

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the first time this season to decide the eligibility of 3 Broadway productions for the 2011 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2011-2012 season to decide the eligibility for the 2012 Tony Awards.

The three productions discussed include: Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, Master Class and Follies.

Reeve Carney will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical category for his performance in Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark.

Jennifer Damiano will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her performance in Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark.

Julie Taymor will be considered eligible in the Best Direction of a Musical category for Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark.

Tyne Daly will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress in Leading Role in a Play category for her performance in Master Class.


All other decisions were consistent with the opening night credits.
