Singer-songwriter, activist, actor, and producer Lysa Flores, a pioneer in the "East Los" alternative scene, started her own record label, Bring Your Love, in 1998 and was named by Newsweek as one of "20 young Latinos to watch in the new millennium." Bringing her unique style to a variety of musical genres and art forms, she has toured extensively through the U.S. and Europe, and has recorded and collaborated with such luminaries as indie-rock legend Jonathan Richman, Tex-Mex superstar Flaco Jiménez, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, guitarist Bill Frisell, and drummer D. J. Bonebrake of X and The Knitters. She was lead guitarist with L.A. punk legend Alice Bag's band Stay at Home Bomb, and toured the globe as a vocalist for performance artist El Vez. Her albums include Tree of Hope, The Making of a Trophy Grrrl!, and Bring Your Love.

Created by master Taiko drummer Maceo Hernandez ("demon drummer from East LA") in 1991, East LA Taiko blends Afro-Cuban rhythms with driving Taiko beats-a fiery, eclectic blend of world rhythms that travels the globe while taking the listener into the heart of Los Angeles. Hernandez, who has been performing Taiko for over 20 years, lived and trained in Japan, performing in Asia, Europe, and North America, and has appeared at New York's Carnegie Hall. Yuujou, whose name means "friendship," was formed in 2012 and is comprised of taiko players from throughout Southern California. The group performs nationally, sharing its powerful sounds and educating its audiences on the history and philosophy of taiko.
